Residents of Malygina Street in Novosibirsk Demand Immediate Resettlement Due to Solid Waste Landfill
Residents of houses located near the Levoberezhny landfill are demanding relocation.
On the street, according to BFM-Novosibirsk. On Malyginskaya and Khilokskaya there are houses with windows facing the solid waste landfill "Levoberezhny". When a fire breaks out at the landfill, local residents suffocate, declaring that this place is dangerous for life. They believed that the authorities should resettle them, and even wrote a corresponding appeal.
The Novosibirsk Region Prosecutor's Office explained that the sanitary protection zone of the landfill does not include a single residential building.
"This bill provides for distance standards and sanitary protection zones for each facility, including solid waste landfills. The resettlement process can be carried out through various mechanisms (for example, from emergency housing to new buildings)," says Alexander Rud, Deputy Prosecutor of the Novosibirsk Region.
The fundamental solution to the problem of the Levoberezhny landfill is to close it and open a new one. Federal and regional structures are currently trying to solve the construction problems, said Alexander Rud.
