Primorsky business switches to cloud solutions
The MTS digital ecosystem has recorded an increase in the consumption of cloud services by enterprises. According to analysts, the demand for the cloud in Primorsky Krai has increased by 1.5 times since the beginning of the year. The most popular functions are still virtual infrastructure and backup, EPI DEITA.RU reports.
MTS Web Services analysts have concluded that the cloud is most in demand among retailers in Primorsky Krai. They account for more than 40% of MWS clients in the region. IT and telecommunications companies, enterprises engaged in scientific and technological activities, transport companies and manufacturing companies are also transferring their data to the cloud.
Cloud service purchases grew the most in the transport and data storage sector (2.3 times), followed by IT and telecommunications companies with more than 2.2 times growth, and hotels and restaurants with 1.4 times growth. Demand for the cloud is also growing in manufacturing, retail, housing and government services.
About 70% of MWS clients in Primorsky Krai use virtual infrastructure, more than 35% use cloud data backup, 11% place data in object storage. Office software and network services in the cloud are also popular in the region.
The region saw the biggest increase in backup demand, with backup purchases doubling year-on-year. The region also saw a 1.8x increase in virtual infrastructure demand, a 1.7x increase in object storage, and a 1.6x increase in isolated network connections. Cloud office software purchases are also on the rise in the region.
