Zakharova said that Russia rejects US intelligence claims about interference in elections
In Armenia, the government has decided to change the name of Armenian cognac to “Armenian brandy.” This was announced by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan in his speech to the Parliament.
He also said that the new name has already been notified to the relevant authorities of the European Union. The Minister of Economy added that a new brand promotion programme has been agreed with the EU, the launch of which is planned for the second half of November.
This decision was supported by a statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Earlier, at a government meeting, he stressed that it is incorrect to use the term “cognac” to refer to Armenian alcohol products, as “cognac is an intangible value of France.” The name refers to brandy made from grapes grown in the French region of Cognac. Pashinyan called for the use of the term “brandy” even in everyday communication, the National News Service reports.
