Hockey player Tortochakov dies after fight outside nightclub
This tragedy once again calls into question the safety of entertainment venues and the need for stricter control over the situation in nightclubs.
Metallurg hockey club player Artem Tortochakov died in a traffic accident near a nightclub in Abakan. Information about this was received from RIA Novosti, citing sources in local law enforcement agencies.
The fatal conflict reportedly took place in a local bar, where Tortochakov and a 25-year-old man had a row. The situation quickly escalated when the suspect repeatedly hit the hockey player on the head with his hands and feet. Despite prompt hospitalization, doctors were helpless. The athlete died in a medical facility.
An official statement from the Metallurg hockey club confirms that the tragedy occurred on November 3. The club noted Artem's "high level of skill" on the ice, especially noting his outstanding professional qualities. The farewell to the talented player is scheduled for November 6.
"Artem was more than just a player. He was the true soul of our club. His dedication to the sport, family values, ability to inspire teammates and unbreakable character served as an example for all of us," he said in a touching message to the club.
