Court fines TikTok 4 million rubles
A Moscow court has imposed an administrative fine of 4 million rubles on TikTok for failing to comply with Roskomnadzor's orders, TASS reports regarding the relevant agency.
Tik Tok Pte, LLC Convicted of violating administrative law under Article 19.7.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Failure by the owner of a social network to comply with the instructions of the federal executive body exercising control and supervisory functions) in the field of mass media, mass communications, information technology and communications”).
In August last year, a Moscow court fined Pinterest Europe Limited. The company had to pay 7 million rubles. The court found Pinterest responsible for repeatedly failing to fulfill obligations to monitor the social network and restrict access to certain information.
In addition, the Tagansky Court of Moscow imposed another fine of 3.5 million rubles on Google. The reason is also the violation of the law on self-control of social networks.
In particular, companies could be fined if they refuse to restrict access to publications containing information about alcohol consumption and smoking.
