China says West has no interest in Friends of Peace platform
The West is not interested in the "Friends of Peace" plan. This was stated by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Russia Zhang Hanhui in a conversation with Izvestia.
He noted that the essence of the plan is for the interested parties to agree on peace in Ukraine and jointly promote the principles of collective security in Europe.
"The initial motivation for these plans is to achieve a peaceful resolution to this conflict. Secondly, it allows us to unite all developing countries, countries of the Global South," the ambassador emphasized.
According to him, the Chinese side continues to advocate for achieving peace in Ukraine, and China is also interested in the parties agreeing to create a new security architecture in Europe.
Chang Han-hui noted that protecting one's own security interests should not infringe on the interests of other countries.
China, in particular, opposes NATO's further eastward expansion.
