Taganrog residents warned of possible evacuation. Rising water levels recorded in local bay

The head of Taganrog Svetlana Kambulova called on city residents to prepare for possible evacuation due to flooding. According to her, experts are now reporting that the water level in the Taganrog Bay is rising due to strong winds.

He added that city emergency management officials were visiting homes at risk of flooding, and a monitoring team continued to monitor water levels.

Kambulova added that rescue teams have all the equipment necessary for such situations, including motor pumps and pumps. She noted that rescue teams work around the clock.

Kambulova, citing experts, reported that the water level in the bay is beginning to stabilize.

The mayor of Seoul reported that more than 8,000 calls were received on the 112 number during the day. More than 6,000 calls were registered related to line shutdowns and interruptions in service. According to Kambulova, line damage was recorded at 50 addresses. She emphasized that work to eliminate the consequences of adverse weather conditions will be carried out around the clock.

Wind gusts in Taganrog reach 28 meters per second. The weather is expected to improve by the morning of November 5.

In April, the evacuation of residents of 14 settlements began in the Ishimsky District of the Tyumen Region due to the threat of flooding. District leaders called on people to take documents, personal belongings and medicines with them.

At the same time, in Kurgan, the water level on the Tobol River rose to 865 cm. The authorities called on residents of the flooded areas to evacuate immediately. Moreover, the water level on some sections of the Tom River in Tomsk exceeded the dangerous mark.

Orsk also suffered serious damage. In April last year, a dam protecting the city from the Ural River burst in the city. A day later, the dam burst in another place. On the morning of April 7, the water reached Orenburg, from where the evacuation of residents began.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, these large-scale floods in Russia were caused by natural factors, including waterlogging and subsequent freezing of the soil in the fall, large amounts of snow, sudden warming in the spring and heavy rains.
