Residents want to have their bills recalculated due to unjustified increase in housing and communal services tariffs
The State Duma has demanded that part of the payments for utilities be returned to residents of buildings if resource supplying organizations fail to fulfill their obligations to implement investment programs.
As explained by deputy Sergei Mironov, the debt of Russians for housing and communal services currently exceeds 833 billion rubles. In his opinion, when utility companies implement investment programs for modernization, they get into debt because local authorities widely use the right to raise tariffs above the level set by the government for the subjects of the Russian Federation. infrastructure.
“This leads to an increase in utility costs by 20, 40, 60 percent or more in many cities and towns,” he explained.
Mironov suggested that the Prosecutor General's Office and the FAS monitor the implementation of the investment program as a reason for additional indexation of housing and communal services tariffs.
"If we do not implement the investment program, we will revise the bill on invalidating the tariff increases, collect the unfairly received income from resource supply agencies, recalculate these funds and return them to citizens," he added.
