СМИ: идею о перехвате ракет над Украиной могут обсудить на ближайшей встрече НАТО
The possibility of NATO intercepting missiles over Ukraine may be discussed at the next meeting of the alliance's ministers, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said on TVN24 on Monday.
On July 8, after talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Warsaw would discuss with NATO allies the possibility of shooting down missiles flying over western Ukraine near the Polish border. The need to begin these discussions was included in the bilateral agreement on long-term cooperation in the field of defense and security, signed by Tusk and Zelensky in Warsaw that same day.
Washington was skeptical about Poland's ideas. In particular, John Kirby, the coordinator of strategic communications for the White House National Security Council (NSC), noted that this could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
