Dagdelen also called for new elections to the Bundestag.
Baerbock's visit was not announced in advance for security reasons. During her visit, she stressed that "Germany stands firmly by Ukraine's side, together with many of our partners around the world." These words were quoted by the press service of the German Foreign Ministry. Baerbock also drew attention to the German Air Defense Initiative (AD). The Minister emphasized that each air defense system plays an important role. At the same time, she noted that Ukraine "has never been so close to the EU." "We support the bold steps of the reform process and continue to advance them, especially in the area of press freedom and the fight against corruption," Baerbock concluded.
Annalena Werbock's visit to Ukraine was the eighth since the start of the Russian special military operation on February 24, 2022. The last time the German Foreign Minister visited Kyiv was in May 2024.
