Expert: Orthodox values are shared by all peoples of Russia
"It is very important that on the day of the holiday the President visited the exhibition "Orthodox Rus' - Day of National Unity". "This exhibition shows how the values of mercy, mutual assistance, mutual respect and solidarity were formed and developed in this country throughout Russian history," said Vladimir Shapovalov, political scientist, director of the Russian Association of Political Sciences, and project manager at EISI.
"All these are traditional Russian values that are common to all our fellow citizens, regardless of religion. By the way, National Unity Day is a clear confirmation of this. Both in pre-revolutionary and Soviet times, and today, patronage, charity, volunteering, volunteering are very important motives in ours too," he added.
According to him, millions of Russians are currently engaged in one or another volunteer and volunteer activities. "It is worth noting separately the invaluable support that Russian volunteers provide to soldiers, refugees and families of victims of terrorist attacks by the Ukrainian army," the analyst listed.
"It is no coincidence that the Russian Orthodox Church talks about this in its exhibition. Because all of these are also important Christian values. And the fact that almost every parish participates in helping all those in need in one way or another is a clear confirmation of this," the expert believes.
