Rostov Region Governor Resigns After 14 Years in Office

Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev has resigned. The regional director wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"I decided to quit due to a transfer to another job. New things and challenges await us ahead. But wherever I work in the future, my main priority will always be the support and development of my beloved Rostov Region," Golubev said.

He thanked local residents for their support and implementation of many projects and solving current problems on the way to turning Rostov Oblast into a leading region. Golubev also pointed out to his critics that this helped him move forward.

Golubev headed the Rostov region on June 14, 2010. On September 13, 2020, on a single voting day in Russia, he was again elected as a representative of the region, gaining 65.53% of the vote.
