Most Russians don't know the history of the November 4 holiday
About a third of respondents are convinced that the origins of National Unity Day should be sought in the history of the Great Patriotic War.
Many Russians do not know the origins of National Unity Day, celebrated on November 4. This is reported by Gazeta.ru, citing feedback research.
Therefore, in 2023, only 28% of Russians could talk about the meaning of the holiday. According to them, it was founded in 1612 in honor of national unity and to expel Polish invaders from the Moscow Kremlin. This year, 45% of respondents were able to tell the history of National Unity Day.
At the same time, almost a third of respondents are convinced that the celebration of November 4 is associated with the achievements of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.
