Josep Borrell Confuses South Korea and Japan
During his trip to Asia, Josep Borrell, the EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security, made a mistake by confusing Japan and Korea during talks in Seoul, RIA Novosti reports.
Following comments from the European delegation and laughter from the Korean delegation, Borrell apologised for his mistake.
On November 1, the European Union and Japan signed an Agreement on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation in the Sphere of Security and Defence. Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and Borrell exchanged documents at a ceremony in Tokyo.
Earlier, the EU foreign policy chief called for increasing sanctions pressure on Moscow and increasing arms supplies to Kyiv. "Peace in Ukraine should not be confused with Kyiv's capitulation," Borrell said.
Borrell also said that without Western help, Ukraine would not have lasted even 15 days.
