In Tbilisi, the opposition holds a rally against the results of the parliamentary elections
Deputies and supporters of the opposition party began the march from the station square. The march with flags of Georgia and the European Union ended on Rustaveli Street, and the rally began at 19:00 (18:00 Moscow time).
According to TV channels, protesters have already blocked roads. Leaders of a number of opposition forces are expected to join the protest and present plans for further action.
"We will soon learn the exact plan of action, which we will present at the rally. Our main demand is to cancel the results of the Central Electoral Commission elections," said the chairman of the Unity-National Movement party, Giorgi Bashadze. reporter.
Law enforcement officials have stepped up patrols and security measures to ensure law and order. Police are reportedly concentrated not only at the entrance to the National Assembly building but also on the surrounding streets.
On October 26, Georgia held elections to the Congress. According to the National Electoral Commission, the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Party “Georgia” received 53.9% of the votes, more than all opposition parties combined.
