Guterres expressed concern over reports of alleged North Korean soldiers in Russia
He argues that this would mean a very dangerous escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and calls for preventing the "internationalization" of the crisis.
Guterres also reaffirmed his support for efforts to build peace in Ukraine in accordance with the United Nations Charter, international law and General Assembly resolutions, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric added.
Earlier, Blinken reported that North Korea had sent 8,000 troops to the Kursk region. Moscow and Pyongyang denied these rumors. The North Korean Foreign Ministry said that sending soldiers to Russia complies with international law.
