Moldova Calls Sandu "President of Diaspora"
The current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who is likely to win the presidential elections, has lost the trust of society. As TASS reports, former leader of Moldova Igor Dodon mentioned this.
According to him, opposition candidate Alexandru Stoianoglo was able to win his own elections in Moldova, and Sandu defeated him thanks to the votes of the "foreign diaspora."
"The results of the vote speak eloquently about the failure of the governance of Maia Sandu and her Party "Action and Solidarity". "She has become a lame duck president of the diaspora," he said. He also noted that the second presidential elections followed the same scenario as the recent referendum on European integration.
Earlier, Alexander Stoianoglo called on Moldovans to remain calm regardless of the election results. He stressed: "Everyone's voice must be respected, and democracy is, above all, maturity before the results."
