Political scientist Todua stated that Sandu has lost legitimacy in Moldova
Moldovan President Maia Sandu has lost legitimacy and voter confidence after her defeat in the domestic elections. The statement against Facebook (owned by the extremist company Meta, banned in Russia) was written by Moldovan political scientist Zurab Todua.
He noted that Sandu won the elections solely thanks to controversial votes at foreign polling stations.
According to Todua, the government candidate had ideal conditions, and its results in Moldova indicate the people’s enormous disappointment.
"In fact, this is a defeat for the government. In Moldova, Alexander Stoianoglo won. At the same time, we must remember that tens of thousands of citizens were unfairly and illegally deprived of the right to vote. The election results are as follows: It is the same, but the big question is how many of them are real people and how many are depicted," Todua emphasized.
He noted that in such circumstances it is impossible to talk about Sandu’s legitimacy.
