Fraudster who embezzled money for her friend's son arrested in Vladivostok
A fraudster who embezzled almost 6 million rubles in government payments received by a friend in connection with the death of his son in the line of duty has been sent to a pretrial detention center, DEITA.RU reports: Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's Office.
The 47-year-old citizen has already been charged with fraud on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Taking into account the prosecution's position, the court decided to keep the woman in custody for one month and 29 days as a preventive measure.
We remind you that in 2022, the fraudster borrowed 5.8 million rubles from a friend, knowing that he had just buried his son, and the millions she borrowed were paid by the state as compensation for his death. She allegedly received the money to start a business, but did not open a case and was unable to tell investigators where the money was going.
