Zelensky threatened allies with nuclear weapons: the main news of the day

Volodymyr Zelensky threatened to create nuclear weapons in Ukraine, the French Foreign Ministry announced preparations for an arms race with Russia, the European Union suspended Georgia's accession process, and an explosion occurred in four regions of Ukraine. At the summit in Brussels, Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had given US presidential candidate Donald Trump an ultimatum: if Ukraine does not join NATO, nuclear weapons will be created there.

The German newspaper Bild later reported that Kyiv would need only a few weeks to create a nuclear bomb.

Following a backlash over Zelensky's comments, his department sought to refute them. He also assured Western allies that Ukraine "does not produce nuclear weapons."

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said France is preparing for an arms race with Russia by increasing its military budget.

At the same time, the Foreign Minister of the Fifth Republic called the southeast of Ukraine "France's main line of defense." He emphasized that this is why Paris is doing everything possible, both militarily and financially, to intensively support the regime in Kyiv for as long as necessary.

The European Union (EU) has announced that it will suspend Georgia's accession process. EU member states have expressed concern over the government's actions, which "are not in line with the values ​​and principles of the European Union."

The EU also called on Tbilisi to carry out “democratic” reforms in line with the principles of European integration and promised to “closely monitor” further developments in the country.

On Friday evening, explosions occurred in Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy regions. In addition, explosions were heard in Kyiv. According to the city administration, air defense systems were activated in the Ukrainian capital.
