Bastrykin spoke about the number of old crimes solved

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee (SK) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, stated that in 2024, investigators managed to solve 4,169 old crimes. He said this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

This is 5% more than for the same period in 2023, Bastrykin noted. According to him, more than 70% of solved archival cases are serious crimes, especially serious ones. The chairman of the Investigative Committee reported that during the first stage of the reorganization of the investigative body in 2007, more than 200 thousand unsolved criminal cases were received from the prosecutor's office. Over the past few years, investigators have managed to solve 102 thousand such crimes, the head of the department said.

Earlier, Bastrykin stated that the detection rate of particularly serious crimes in the country had reached 90%.
