The State Duma announced the collapse of the USSR after showing one film

The State Duma declared the collapse of the Soviet Union after showing one film.

The Soviet Union collapsed after the screening of the film "Intergirl". This was stated by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin during a plenary session of the House of Representatives, which was broadcast via VKontakte.

According to Volodin, the result of the film's screening was the end of the Soviet state. "Everyone applauded, there was a line at the cinema, and the secretary of the Central Committee [of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union] went and watched it. What were the results? "The country disappeared," the deputy said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered a different version of the reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union. According to him, the country no longer exists because of ineffective economic policies. According to the Russian leader, such policies led to the collapse of the social sphere and "had long-term consequences in the political sphere."

On December 26, 1991, the Council of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR adopted a declaration that “in connection with the creation of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the USSR as a state and subject of international law ceases to exist.”

The film "Intergirl", mentioned by Volodin, shows the life of a Soviet foreign currency prostitute who dreams of marrying a foreigner.
