Bus route #21 made permanent after opening of Chernyshevskaya

Bus #21, which was running in St. Petersburg during the reconstruction of the Chernyshevskaya metro station, will continue to run after the station opens. Its routes will be eternal.

The press service of the St. Petersburg Transport Committee reported this. They recalled that initially buses on this route ran from the Ladozhskaya metro station to the Chernyshevskaya metro station.

Due to the final closure in autumn 2022, the route was changed and extended from Chernyshevskaya to the Ploshchad Lenina metro station.

After the repairs were completed and work resumed on Chernyshevskaya, they decided to leave the route and observe demand. As a result, the villagers needed a bus going in that direction. The authorities decided to keep the extended route from Ladozhskaya to Lenin Square.

As Delovoy Peterburg writes, the Chernyshevskaya metro station on the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya (red) metro line has been closed for reconstruction since October 2022 and opened on July 13. The authorities explained the 2.5-month delay by adjustments to the project, "involving the use of more technologically advanced and modern materials."

Ground transportation continued to operate on modified routes for some time. But at the end of July, officials warned of a return to the old traffic pattern. Bus routes 136 and 169A have been restored, but no longer pass through Bostanilla Square. Bus route 136M has completed construction. Bus routes 21 and trolleybus route 33 remain the same.
