Serial dismemberer Masalimov to be released on parole before New Year
Serial killer Anvar Masalimov is expected to be released before the new year. He was the first prisoner in the history of the Russian Federation to have his death sentence commuted to life imprisonment and then released on parole. In effect, they put me back in prison. According to SHOT, Masalimov is currently in IK-3 in Bashkortostan. He is due to be released in December. The 63-year-old maniac committed his first murder in 1980. Then, as an employee of the Vostok oil pipeline installation company, he went on a business trip from Ufa to the city of Tchaikovsky in Perm Krai. There, he stabbed his drinking buddy to death. As a result, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Even stories of memory loss did not save Masalimov.
In 1991, he was transferred to a penal colony in the Tomsk region, where he committed a second murder. There, Masalimov met with residents of the village of Komsomolsk. It remains in the oven. In October 1992, the killer was sentenced to death. However, due to the corresponding delay in execution, the sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. He was imprisoned in the Vologda colony "Pyatak" as the most dangerous criminal, and then transferred to the prison "Polar Owl" in the village of Kharp in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. In 2016, Masalimov was released on parole.
After his release, he visited the Church of St. Dmitry Rostovsky in Moscow, where he said he hoped to receive housing and compensation from the state for his overly harsh punishment. But Masalimov did not remain free for long. In 2018, he was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of attacking a colleague with a weapon while intoxicated. The killer tried to appeal another sentence, but the court refused.
