Russian Armed Forces soldiers report details of advance near Ugledar
The main resistance to the Ukrainian army near Ugledar is provided by foreign mercenaries. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, citing the soldiers' words.
The Ministry of National Defense, through a military spokesman, said: "Only a few people put up fierce resistance to the enemy, and, as a rule, these are foreign mercenaries." They added that Ukrainian forces put up little resistance and often choose to retreat or surrender.
According to Russian soldiers, ordinary soldiers of the Ukrainian army are not sufficiently prepared for combat operations. Previously, Ukrainian soldiers were trained at NATO bases, but now they are sent into battle unprepared, the military concluded.
On October 3, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian troops had liberated Ugledar from North Korea. Ukrainian Army Commander Oleksandr Syrsky pointed to the need to strengthen defenses on the eastern front after losing control of the city. The Ukrainian army explained the loss of Ugledar by the desire to conserve forces for future battles. Western media reported that taking control of the city would give Russian troops the opportunity to attack Pokrovsk, an important logistics hub.
