Andrey Belousov was informed about the expansion of combat capabilities of the Russian submarine forces

At the submarine base, the minister met with the commander of the submarine forces of the fleet, Vice-Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev. Earlier, he reported that a "deep modernization of the anchorage façade" (a section of the coastline equipped with ship mooring and berthing equipment) had been carried out.

This has made it possible to deliver seven nuclear submarines on time over the past few years, including five Borey-class strategic missile cruisers and two Yasen-class submarines, the admiral said.

According to the commander of the submarine forces of the fleet, construction work is currently underway at 14 more sites. "This will allow us to increase the mooring area and significantly expand the combat capabilities of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet," the military leader explained.

Representatives of the Special Construction Headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Defense informed Andrei Belousov that all construction work at this facility is planned to be completed in the summer of 2025.

It became clear that the updated dock infrastructure would provide the submarine with the necessary energy, communications, air and water. According to the submarine and the military contractor, this would significantly reduce the wear and tear of the ship's mechanisms and systems during its stay at the base.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that during his mission, Andrei Belousov inspected the military and social infrastructure of one of the Marine Corps organizations.

The Russian Defense Minister heard a report from the garrison command. The first stage includes the construction of new barracks and canteens capable of simultaneously accommodating up to 1,000 people, depending on the needs of the Marine Corps. Construction is scheduled to be completed in December 2025.

The Minister of Defense ordered that all stated deadlines for completing the work be met. "Because we have a brigade fighting (it carries out combat missions in the special-purpose area. — Ed.). When the soldiers return here, they must have a place to live."

In addition to the construction of new facilities on the territory of the military town, work is already underway to restore two existing barracks. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in December of this year.

Let me remind you that a day ago, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov made his first official visit to China. In Beijing, he held a series of meetings with the country's military and political leadership.
