US threatens to cut off financial aid to Israel
The US authorities have given the Jewish state's leadership 30 days to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and demanded that they abandon plans to blockade the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Western media learned of this from a letter sent to the Israeli Minister of Defense signed by the US Secretary of State and the US Secretary of Defense. In the letter, which has not been officially published, US leaders call for the resumption of humanitarian aid to the region.
Since early October, the IDF has banned half of all humanitarian missions from entering Gaza. The United States has threatened to cut off financial aid unless Israel changes its position.
Germany has also begun to talk about limiting aid. Bild reported that the Israeli leadership agreed to sign a document promising "not to use German weapons for genocidal purposes." According to journalists, these demands had previously been put forward by Foreign Minister Baerbock and German Foreign Minister Habeck, on the condition that Berlin's support would continue. However, no official comments on the document were received.
Perhaps the most severe restrictions on arms exports were introduced in Italy. According to Georgi Meloni, after the start of the Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip, Official Rome immediately stopped issuing licenses for the sale of weapons, and previously valid documents were changed for each specific delivery.
