Turkey Considers Reducing Number of All-Inclusive Hotels
The number of all-inclusive hotels in Turkey may be shrinking. Mustafa Korkutat, a member of the Ankara Young Entrepreneurs Association, told a Turkish newspaper:
In his opinion, this decision may be due to the fact that tourists are undernourished and end up throwing away large amounts of food.
"Every year 50 billion lira (about $1.4 billion) is wasted. The number of all-inclusive tourist hotels will decrease," Korkutata said.
According to his calculations, 200 to 400 grams of food are thrown away from each plate.
The businessman finds a way out of the situation by implementing the following food system. In the evening, after leaving the tour, the tourist will be offered to have dinner in one of the restaurants with which such an agreement has been concluded.
At the same time, it was proposed to maintain the “all inclusive” system in the morning and afternoon, and to apply the innovation only in the evening.
