Two former candidates for mayor of Kurgan have withdrawn from the competition

Two candidates for the post of mayor of Kurgan - Armen Khachaturyan and Oleg Antropov - refused to participate in the new competition. Both candidates have their own programs. They explained that they "changed their minds" and refused to participate in the competition. Khachaturyan and Antropov told URA.RU correspondents about this.

"I'm not going to participate. We already have a good team that we don't want to leave," Antropov told URA.RU. He is currently the director of the 1st Social Security Center.

Antropov was one of those who reached the final stage of the previous mayoral race. The acting mayor Anastasia Argysheva and the general secretary of the Kurgan regional branch of the United Russia party Dmitry Zhukovsky competed for this position. But the search for a new mayor was cancelled. As Antropov said, he heard about the new competition.

Khachaturyan also changed his mind about participating, which he told journalists. According to him, he is no longer interested in political races. Although he participated in previous competitions, he did not make it to the final. However, Khachaturyan shared his impressions of the interviews conducted by the commission. "The interview was very productive and constructive. I had the opportunity to present my program in 10 minutes," Khachaturyan told URA.RU.

The Kurgan City Council has decided to announce a competition to elect a candidate for the post of city head from October 5. The delegates unanimously decided to hold a congress. The names of the candidates will be announced in mid-October.
