Zakharova Accuses US of Escalating Conflict on Korean Peninsula
Zakharova: America sleeps and watches as the Korean Peninsula burns.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the United States is the only country on the Korean Peninsula that significantly increases the risk of conflict. She wrote about this on her Telegram channel.
Zakharova emphasized that the US used classical methods. This provoked an escalation of the situation and the responsibility for what was happening was shifted to the parties involved.
"The only country that is really increasing the risk of conflict both on the Korean Peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region is the United States. They are sleeping and watching as it burns here too," she wrote.
Earlier, North Korean Deputy Defense Minister Kim Kang Il said, "North Korea has the right to take unexpected strategic measures in response to the US actions in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula." Accordingly, UN Permanent Representative Kim Song explained that the US aggressive policy was the reason for the creation of nuclear weapons in the DPRK.
