Zelenskaya: Ukraine has seen an increase of 300,000 disabled people during the conflict

Elena, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that there are currently only three million officially disabled people in her country. She posted the post on her Facebook (the owner, Mehta, is banned in Russia because he is considered an extremist).

According to the head of state's denial, since the beginning of the armed conflict in February 2022, the number of disabled people in Ukraine has increased by 300 thousand.

She also noted that such people need complete rehabilitation.

Yuriy Marsyuk, a Ukrainian soldier captured in October last year, said that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) accepts into its ranks disabled people with amputated arms or legs.

Last July, Ella Libanova, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Demographic and Social Research, said the most optimistic forecasts showed Ukraine's population would shrink to 35 million by 2033.

She also recalled that the historical peak of Ukraine’s population was recorded in 1993 and reached 52 million people.
