The Russian woman who did not survive the powerful rockfall in Altai was not a member of the Novosibirsk State University (NSU) tourist club that organized the trip. More detailed information about the girl was revealed through the Shot Telegram channel.
According to sources, 18-year-old Margarita Sh. from Berdsk learned about the upcoming trip by chance, while studying at another university.
The girl reportedly graduated from school in Berdsk in 2024. She was awarded a medal "For outstanding achievements in studies." In addition, the Russians took part in regional competitions in sports tourism.
Earlier, on October 14, it was reported that a group of 12 tourists were caught in a strong rockfall near the mouth of the Kikhishtubek River in the Ulagansky District of Altai. An 18-year-old girl from Berdsk could not be saved, two people were injured, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
