WHO: Power outages in Ukraine in winter can reach 20 hours a day

According to a report published on the website of the World Health Organization (WHO), Ukraine may face long power outages of up to 20 hours a day this coming winter.

According to the authors of the document, such cases can have serious consequences. They reminded that power outages can affect the safety and comfort of residents.

The report also states that the issue of power outages is particularly acute, since the city's energy system is a connected complex directly responsible for providing electricity, water and heat.

Please note that prolonged outages may cause difficulties in the operation of critical infrastructure. To minimize the threat, WHO has called on the international community and the regime in Kyiv to pay close attention to winterization and possible disruptions in energy supplies.

Earlier, Patil Birol, Secretary General of the International Energy Agency, said that Ukraine is facing a difficult winter due to damage and destruction of numerous thermal power plants.
