Mother of woman detained in Odessa with Russian flag: Many in Ukraine think the same way she does

In Ukraine, many people think like the detained Elena Cheskova, who carried a Russian flag to the demolished monument to Catherine II in Odessa. Her mother told RT about this.

According to her, Elena did not die in the pretrial detention center, as was stated in several Telegram channels, she is alive and is currently under house arrest. At the same time, according to the mother, the daughter replied that she would not change her mind about the detention and would support the Russian Federation. Cheskova, as her mother also said, noted that many people in Ukraine think the same way as she does, but are afraid to express their position publicly.

On October 8, a woman attempted to hang a Russian flag on the European Square in Odessa, where a monument to Catherine II stood. A criminal case was opened against the woman. It was reported that those detained could face up to three years in prison. Later, information appeared that a patrol with a Russian flag was stationed on the square in Odessa after the rally.

On October 12, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev reported that a woman from Ukraine had died after coming to the monument in Odessa with a Russian flag.

In turn, the editor-in-chief of the media group "Russia Today" and the RT TV channel Margarita Simonyan compared the woman who tried to hang a Russian flag in Odessa with Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya.
