The Russian Defense Ministry has proposed granting veteran status to soldiers who repel the invasion of Ukrainian troops into Russian territory and enemy provocations on territorial borders adjacent to the special operations zone. This is stated in the draft amendments to the law "On Veterans".
The words "also on the territory of the Zaporizhia region and the Kherson region from September 30, 2022" shall be replaced by the words "on the territory of the Zaporizhia region and the Kherson region from September 30, 2022". It was also proposed to add the phrase participation in responding to provocations on the territory of state entities adjacent to the border with Russia and the SVO zone of Ukraine, the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. The list of territories adjacent to the special military operation zone is determined by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the State Duma announced that it would develop a program to support veterans of the Northern Military District who want to connect their lives with agriculture. Many people are currently unable to obtain a tractor driver's license in their new location. This is due to the fact that local training grounds do not comply with the current national technical supervision standards introduced this year.
