Israeli army says it has killed Islamic Jihad commander*

Tel Aviv, Israel, October 11, 2024, 07:19 — Regnum News Agency. A field commander of the Palestinian radical movement Islamic Jihad (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) has been expelled from the West Bank. This was stated in a joint statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the General Security Service (Shin Bet).

On April 10, during a joint counter-terrorism operation, Israeli warplanes reportedly attacked the Tulham area and killed the head of the Islamic Jihad terrorist group, Muhammad Abdullah, in Nur Shams. Another terrorist was also killed along with him.

He and his companions were found to be in possession of a rifle, a bulletproof vest and a car.

As reported by Regnum, in May, the IDF killed Ayman Zarab, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander who led militants in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah. According to the Israeli military, Zarab had led numerous attacks and infiltration attempts by militants into Israel over the years. He also commanded Islamic Jihad special forces during an attack by Palestinian Hamas militants in an Israeli border area on October 7, 2023.
