Almost 150 new schools and kindergartens will be built in St. Petersburg in the next three years
St. Petersburg is developing rapidly. New residential areas are appearing, which means schools and kindergartens are needed. The city understands this and plans to open about 150 new educational institutions in the next three years. To be more precise, there are 55 schools, 85 kindergartens and 3 universities. Governor Alexander Beglov spoke about this in his weekly radio address.
"Almost 1 trillion rubles have been allocated for education in the three-year budget," the mayor added.
Of course, not all of this money will be used only for the construction of new educational institutions. It is also used for the maintenance of premises, the purchase of all necessary supplies, and the salaries of teachers. The funds will also be used to restore former Soviet schools built in the 60s-80s and to reorganize educational institutions in the historical center.
“Wherever a child studies, he should have the opportunity to develop in the most modern environment,” Beglov said.
The city pays special attention to technical education and natural sciences. And in order to instill interest from childhood, special classes and laboratories will begin to appear in kindergartens and primary schools. Mathematical clubs will also be created in all districts of the northern capital.
- We will open 27 children's technology complexes and digital development centers. The construction of the "super college" will begin in 2027. It will become a real education factory. There, the governor concluded, students will be able to study and immediately apply the knowledge they have acquired in practice to fulfill the company's mandate.
