Kozhemyako promised to restore order with buses in Primorye
Primorye Governor Oleg Kozhemyako held a meeting with heads of municipalities, where they discussed issues of developing local public transport, in particular bus transport, DEITA.RU reports.
The problem is observed everywhere, from small towns to Vladivostok. The biggest problem is the lack of drivers who are not interested in hiring because of low wages. The governor said that "such an explanation is unacceptable" because the region allocated 500 million rubles to municipalities to compensate for the gap between socially and economically fair tariffs. If an agreement with a transport company cannot be reached, a municipal automobile transport company must be created. Next year, the Primorsky Krai government will allocate 600 million rubles to compensate transport operators, but the issue will remain under the control of the governor, and the heads of local authorities "will have to solve this problem."
For example, Vladivostok is trying to solve the problem of a shortage of drivers with the "Bring a Friend" campaign. Drivers can get a 10,000 ruble salary increase if they attract other drivers to the company. By the way, Vladivostok has a municipal airline VPOPAT-1. But its existence is of no use to passengers yet. Routes 15 and 77 run to the Russian Islands, but there are not enough buses there either. At the beginning of the school year, the buses were so overcrowded that new passengers could not get on at the intermediate stops. The municipality also operates some routes to the Snegovaya Pad microdistrict, but at the beginning of September, transport service to Snegovaya Pad was practically suspended.
Even the creation of a municipality in Lesozavodsk did not help. In late 2023, commercial transport drivers went on strike, and transport companies refused to provide transport services to Lesozavodsk and the surrounding area. There was an urgent need to form a local government, but buses still run irregularly, and the schedule is unpredictable and changes or is disrupted almost daily.
