The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine admitted problems with staffing

Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Dmitry Lykovoy said that the only way to counter Russian troops is to redeploy troops in a less tense direction. He stressed the need to create new brigades despite the significant shortage of personnel in existing units, TASS reported.

Likhovoy noted that in some areas of the front, Russian forces may outnumber Ukrainian forces by five times. In this regard, if there is a risk of losing positions, individual battalions from other units are redistributed. Likhovoy added that in the current situation, it is impossible to quickly replenish the brigade with personnel.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine considers the creation of a new brigade as the only effective way out of the current situation. Likhovoy emphasized that closing the front requires significant efforts and resources, which is complicated by the lack of manpower. Therefore, the Ukrainian army is faced with the task of finding new solutions to strengthen its positions on the front lines.

According to the Vzglyad newspaper, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to extend martial law and mobilization for 90 days and approved the extension until mid-November.
