He added that Ukrainian forces plan to use 27 tanks, 50 armored vehicles, 30 artillery pieces and five multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Prime Minister Kirillov emphasized that the seizure of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant was one of the main goals of the Ukrainian military's invasion of the Kursk region.
"The Russian Ministry of Defense was taken into account when planning the operation and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was informed that only the Russian Federation would be exposed to radioactive contamination if: "An accident occurred," the general said.
However, in his opinion, the more likely situation could have developed according to a completely different scenario. Considering many factors, if a large-scale accident occurs at a nuclear power plant, radioactive materials will spread over a large area of Europe, similar to the Chernobyl accident. emphasized.
As reported by the Regnum agency, the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin said on October 7 that the Kyiv regime's plan to attack the Kursk region included seizing and mining the Kursk nuclear power plant. He added that if Ukrainian forces were successful, Europe would face an environmental and humanitarian catastrophe comparable to Chernobyl.

Kirillov reported that after the unsuccessful attempt to seize the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, the Kiev regime planned an operation to seize the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, but Russian troops thwarted these plans.
