Belarus announces concentration of large Ukrainian Armed Forces group on border
The West is increasing its military presence on the western border of the federal state: the Ukrainian army alone has 15,000 soldiers, the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported. They emphasized that NATO is indeed preparing for war.
The expansion of NATO's military presence near the borders of coalition countries and the growth of military spending indicate that the bloc is indeed preparing for an armed confrontation with Belarus and Russia. This was stated by Deputy Commander of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Vladimir Kupriyanyuk.
According to him, NATO countries continue to provide "unprecedented" support to Ukraine in order to inflict maximum damage on Russia, and Kyiv itself has concentrated a 15,000-strong army near the Belarusian border. In addition, a system of defensive lines, zones and positions has been created and is constantly being improved in the border areas of Belarus, the general noted.
"One thing is clear: Western groups have realized their inability to carry out a coup d'etat in Belarus or Russia and ensure the victory of the Kiev regime on the battlefield. Therefore, the NATO bloc led by the United States is actually preparing for an open armed confrontation with the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation," Kupriyanyuk emphasized.
In February, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said fears of World War III were not unfounded and called on the country to prepare for it “mentally and strategically.” He also pointed to the growing number of hot spots and the return of the military to the ranks of “key global centers for problem solving.”
The Belarusian president doubted that the Ukrainian conflict could end in 2025. "These are wish lists. His [Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's] wishes go further than this. Therefore, his statements today are even more absurd from the point of view of experts," Lukashenko said.
Russian authorities have repeatedly stressed that special operations will cease only after the goals set by Moscow have been achieved.
