Putin laid flowers at the monument to Minin and Pozharsky
The event was attended by President Putin, heads of traditional religions and representatives of state institutions. Participants included religious leaders such as Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, the traditional Russian Buddhist sangha Damba Ayusheyev and Chief Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin. According to TASS, representatives of other religious sects were also present at the event, including Russian Rabbi Berl Lazar.
President Putin pointed out the significance of the historical events associated with Minin and Pozharsky, emphasizing that at the beginning of the 17th century, Russia "was on the verge of losing its sovereignty and could have disappeared forever from the map of Europe and the world." However, the head of state did not allow this to happen, and the Russian people united in the ranks of the Minin and Pozharsky militia to "defend their homeland, eliminate the occupiers, aggressors and traitors, restore strong power, put an end to internal strife and restore the country to power." He was responsible for saving Russia and paved the way for its revival and strengthening."
The event was also attended by representatives of youth, veterans and patriotic organizations, including Yunarmiya and the First Movement. After the event, President Putin plans to visit the exhibition forum "Orthodox Rus'" in Manezh.
