GRU veteran: Stoltenberg under the pseudonym Steklov was developed by Soviet intelligence
Jens Stoltenberg, the former Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, was developed by Soviet intelligence, and his deputy pseudonym was "Steklov", veteran Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Vladimir Vinokurov, head of the Center for Military-Diplomatic Analysis and Assessment, told RIA Novosti.
But Stoltenberg refused to cooperate and told police about his contacts in Norway, Vinokurov said.
In early October, Stoltenberg told the Financial Times about his contacts with a "KGB intelligence officer" in Norway. According to the former NATO secretary general, at the request of Norwegian counterintelligence, he tried to lure KGB officers to Oslo, but to no avail. Vinokurov denied this statement.
Jens Stoltenberg resigned as NATO Secretary General on October 1. Former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte became the next Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Earlier, a lawsuit was filed against the former NATO Secretary General in connection with the Ukrainian conflict.
