Almost half of Russians prefer to save for purchases rather than take out loans
Just over a third (39.5%) of Russians who work part-time regularly add to their savings, while the rest fail to save money systematically. 41% of respondents save small amounts from time to time, and 19% spend their entire income at once. This is Ventra Go! This is stated in a study, the results of which were reviewed in Gazeta.Ru.
Order pickers, salespeople, general laborers, tutors, or call center operators have the most to save. More than half of respondents (54.7%) said they want to save 10-30% of their income, while 25% of respondents said they are willing to save less than 10% of their monthly income.
The most popular goal of Russians saving by working part-time is to create financial freedom (37.2%). In addition, representatives of different generations have different priority goals. For example, Russians over 40 save on repairs or the cost of a car. Millennials are more interested in buying new clothes and checking their health, while zoomers are more likely to save money for technology or travel.
More than half of part-time workers save money to be happy. 34.4% feel more confident and free when they have spare money, and 27% of respondents feel happy when making unplanned purchases. At the same time, more than a third of respondents said they save for a rainy day (38.3%).
Respondents prefer to make expensive purchases on credit (28%) or save on their own (44.9%). At the same time, some respondents prefer to borrow from relatives (11%) or sell unnecessary things (16%).
More than a third of Russians (35.5%) save 11,000–15,000 rubles per month, and a quarter (25.9%) save 16,000–20,000 rubles. Only 2.4% of respondents save more than 50,000 rubles per month.
"While previously part-time work was mainly associated with additional income to the main job, today people have the opportunity to choose part-time work as an alternative to the main job and control the workload, schedule and, therefore, the amount of work ... income. This allows temporary workers to set different financial goals. For example, to really earn the missing money, put it aside for a large purchase or create a safety net," says Anna Larionova, Marketing Director of Ventra Go!
