Moldovan opposition accuses Sandu of election fraud

Chisinau, November 4, FederalPress. The Socialist Party of Moldova (PSRM), whose presidential candidate is former Prosecutor General Alexandru Stoianoglo, does not recognize the results of foreign votes and considers Maia Sandu an illegitimate president of the republic. This became known from the official statement of the party.

The PSRM representatives also noted that during the elections there were unjustified reductions of polling stations, blocking of citizens' access to voting, "day of silence" campaign events, as well as hundreds of cases of counterfeiting and loss of ballot boxes. The PSRM is convinced that all these violations led to hundreds of thousands of citizens being deprived of their right to vote.

The party emphasizes that even taking into account the violations, Maia Sandu did not receive the majority of votes among the country's voters. The PSRM claims that Alexandru Stoianoglo, who lives and works in Moldova, pays taxes, raises children and faces the real problems of the republic, achieved a real victory in the elections, gaining 51.19% of the votes of Moldovan citizens.

The Moldovan opposition also claims that there is evidence of large-scale falsifications at foreign polling stations in support of the current President Maia Sandu, said the leader of the opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Moldova reported that after processing 99.86% of the votes, Maia Sandu received 55.3%, and Stoianoglo - 44.7% approval rating.
