Compared the fees of Soviet and modern stars: Oleg Yankovsky earned half a Moskvich from one film, while his grandson earned a whole car

Popular actors, the public's favorites, have always been generously paid for filming. In the theater, their salaries are lower, but for working on movie hits, they earn as much as their peers - variety artists from their personal "reserves". We compared the fees of Soviet movie stars and current screen hits.

45 years ago (November 1979) the five-part TV film "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed" was released, loved by millions of viewers. Also this year is the anniversary of the famous films "Kalina Krasnaya" and "The Same Munchausen".

Before perestroika, actors in the Soviet Union were paid for filming in three qualification categories: best, first, and second. Each category had its own tariff rate. The categories of artists were determined by the state customs committees that existed at the time of the formation of culture. Each actor was an employee of a film studio or theater.

When calculating the actors' remuneration, not only the rates by category were taken into account, but also national awards, titles, experience, knowledge, etc. In addition, when calculating the salary for filming, the category of the film was taken into account. For example, the comedy "Three Plus Two" was originally classified as a second category, so it had a small budget and low fees for casting. Comedies rarely received the highest categories. However, after its release in 1963, the film was seen by 35 million people, which made it one of the three highest-grossing films of that year. Therefore, the film's category was changed to first place, and the five main actors were paid 300 rubles each.

Each category was divided into two groups. Additional fees were paid for the importance of the role and outstanding images, as well as fees for filming and downtime. Here are all the salaries and fees of the actors: Average salary figures from open sources are given. In the highest category, very famous actors received a salary of 450 rubles (during filming) and 300 rubles (during downtime), while simply famous actors - 350 and 230 rubles. Actors of the first category: The salary of the first group is 250 and 160 rubles, the second - 200 and 145 rubles. The second category: salary for the filming period - 180 - 120 rubles excluding filming. When calculating the cost of the film, the number of filming days, bonuses and personal achievements were taken into account, and the salary was increased several times.

With the advent of perestroika, all tariffs and categories were abolished, and even the cost of paintings became negotiable.

Kalina Krasnaya (1974, 62.2 million viewers per year)

Vasily Shukshin - 2250 rubles. 2000 rubles to the director. The script costs 4912 rubles (about the role);

Ivan Ryzhov - 1102 rubles. For all tasks for the role.

The average monthly salary in the Soviet Union in 1974 was 143 rubles.

Vladimir Vysotsky – first 13 rubles. For the day of shooting and after submitting an application – 42 rubles.

The average monthly salary in the Soviet Union in 1979 was 168 rubles.

Oleg Yankovsky - 3800 rub. For all tasks for the role.

The average monthly salary in the Soviet Union in 1979 was 168 rubles.

The average monthly salary in the Soviet Union in 1971 was 125 rubles.

Leonid Gaidai – 4949 rubles for filming and 2000 rubles for the script;

The average salary in the Soviet Union in 1968 was 110 rubles.

The average salary in the Soviet Union in 1966 was 97 rubles.

45 years ago, Oleg Yankovsky received half of a Moskvich-2140 car for filming in the movie "The Same Munchausen". The average cost of filming for his popular grandson Ivan Yankovsky per day in 2024 is 300,000 rubles. For one film, he can earn 3 million rubles for a new Moskvich 3E. They pay more or less. Why? There are no strict fees. Actors set their own fees. This is determined by their acquaintance with the director or production company, the director's reputation, the importance of the project, the number of episodes, the amount of work for a certain period, or other subjective reasons. The average number of filming days for the main character of a feature film is 20 days. In the case of a TV series, everything depends on the number of episodes, and episodes from 2 to 5 minutes long are filmed per filming day.

The famous TV producer Nikolay Kartozia was not surprised when this year he reported on his Telegram channel about the huge earnings of one of the actors in our films. "Do you know how Dmitry Nagiyev will react if he invites him to star in his film? He will tell you 5 million rubles for a day of filming. At the same time, you must guarantee that the person in your photographs will have at least four such days."

The average floating cost of a day's shooting for a movie star is as follows.
