The Cabinet of Ministers has exempted pollock and sardine fillets from export duties
This tariff will also be waived for cooked or preserved crustaceans, molluscs and invertebrates.
The government changed the list of goods subject to the exchange rate. Pollock fillets, sardines, cooked or canned crustaceans, mollusks and invertebrates were removed from production.
The document was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The changes will come into force seven days after the publication of the resolution.
From September 2023, foreign exchange export tariffs will be introduced on a wide range of goods, including fish. Customs duties range from 4% to 7% of the customs value, depending on the exchange rate of the national currency at a rate of more than 80 rubles per US dollar.
The exchange rate tax will be in effect until the end of 2024. The Russian Ministry of Finance stated that there are no plans for a further extension.
