Rescuers find lost tourists in Sochi mountains

On the eve of October 17, a young man called the rescue service and reported that he and his friend were unable to get out of the forest. The tourists sent the coordinates to the rescuers. They were under an abandoned restaurant on Mount Akhun. The rescuers quickly reached the missing people and took them out of the forest to the city limits.

As the rescued men told us, in the afternoon we headed down the Eagle Rocks and along the power line towards Khosta. Along the way they found a road leading to Mount Akhun and decided to climb it. The slope became steeper and began to darken as recent rains washed away the mud and clay. The young man decided not to take any risks and went down the slippery path. The tourists made the right decision. I found a safe place and called the emergency room.

The 29-year-old man came from the Moscow region to Sochi for a vacation, and his 32-year-old friend came from Samara. The press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that no one needed medical assistance.

In October, two more tourists got lost and were unable to get out of the Agur Gorge. They did not know the area and could not give geographical coordinates. After a long conversation, the head of the operation found out the location of the missing people.
