Automotive expert Vyacheslav Subbotin spoke to Radio Sputnik about when to change summer tires to winter ones.
“As the manufacturer states, tires should be changed at an average daily temperature of +5 degrees,” said Vyacheslav Subbotin.
Automotive experts say it's important to pay attention to forecasts when deciding whether to replace tires.
The expert said: “When it’s freezing or snowy outside, it becomes slippery and ice forms, so it’s necessary to install winter tires.”
He said: “If there is no snow and the asphalt is clean, why waste money and wear out winter tires?”
If you don't drive in heavy snow, you can leave the tires on because summer tires make it easier to steer, Subbotin said.
