More than ten hotels in Krasnodar Krai participate in projects to improve labor productivity

At the Productivity 360 forum in Moscow, business and government representatives discussed increasing efficiency in the tourism sector.

Since the beginning of the year, hotels and sanatoriums with a turnover of more than 180 million rubles have received the opportunity to participate in the national project "Labor Productivity".

According to Deputy Minister of Economic Development Murat Kerefov, 45 companies have already taken part in the state project, and another 39 companies (mainly hotels and sanatoriums) have submitted applications.

- The number of trips over 8 months was 58 million, which is 11% more than last year. The summer was record-breaking and historical. As demand grows, we must ensure equal supply. And here it is important to ensure the efficient use of tourism infrastructure," Kerefov said.

National projects have accumulated extensive experience in targeted support. 65,000 companies have received support from the Center for Advanced Studies. The national project’s practices are applicable to a wide range of activities, including the tourism sector.

A center of industry competences has been created in Krasnodar Krai to develop systemic solutions to improve productivity and identify management barriers. Another one is being formed within the state enterprise Kavkaz.RF.

Kuban Economy Minister Alexey Yurtayev reported that the main task of the regional OKC is to create standards for all operational procedures in the hospitality industry that can be improved with the help of lean technologies. Six standards are already ready for replication.

– In Krasnodar Krai, more than 10 hotels are participating in productivity improvement projects. One of the improved processes, for example, housekeeping, has already proven its profitability. Implementation in classified hotels of the region will allow companies to save more than 1 billion rubles per year. If the quality of service does not improve, hotels may lose tourists. We believe that this phenomenon can be avoided by adopting lean manufacturing methods. This will benefit the accommodation, increase guest returns and vacationer satisfaction,” said Alexey Yurtayev.

Representatives of the largest hotel companies also spoke at the session "Lean Vacation: How to Increase Efficiency in the Tourism Industry". Violetta Romero de Torres, Managing Director of Raddison Hotel Group in Russia, shared her experience in optimizing processes within the company.

Elena Zaritskaya, CEO of PJSC Abrau-Durso, told how lean technologies reduced the time it took to prepare rooms for guests' arrival by a quarter in one of the company's hotels. Maria Zolotukhina, Deputy Director of OOO Mantera Group, shared her experience of increasing labor productivity at the Krasnaya Polyana Hotel, the press service of the regional administration reports.
